History
Then...
In 1920, four young entrepreneurs, H.T. Robinson, E.W. Macmillan, and the
brothers E.D. and H.T. Bryan, saw a growing need for paper boxes to serve
the hosiery mills of Chattanooga, Tennessee. They pooled their resources
to start a one-machine paper box manufacturing plant in eastern Tennessee.
They named their new plant the Atlas Paper Box Company.
The company gradually expanded under the leadership of Harry Robinson, Sr.
and in 1927 purchased equipment to manufacture writing tablets and filler paper.
By 1946, the company expanded their business to include the manufacturing
of envelopes. Success at this business endeavor led to the purchase of Top
Flight Paper Company, a Nashville based paper converter specializing in the
manufacturing of notebooks, filler paper, tablets, and other paper-based
school supplies. The acquisition significantly expanded the manufacturing
capacity and the breadth of product offerings of the company. Eventually,
the Top Flight name was selected for the entire Company.
Now...
Today, Top Flight, Inc., headquartered in Chattanooga, Tennessee,
manufactures a broad range of paper products to service the needs
of its three divisions: Mass Market Division, College Bookstore Division,
and the Commercial Envelope Division.
